A journey through the territories that belie our human relationships, And Whose Heart is not a Hungry Fish? is a 45-minute solo performance devised and performed by local theatre artist Jocelyn Chua. Featuring physical theatre choreography, semi-autobiographical stories, scientific research, voice-over text and poetry, this piece delves into the themes of human desire and forbidden love affairs through a reinvestigation of the urban myths surrounding the SPG - Sarong Party Girl.
Originally conceived and performed as part of SURGE Goldsmiths College MA in Performance Making festival of final graduation shows, And Whose Heart is not a Hungry Fish? premiered in London in 2008, before touring to the 8th International School for Actors & Directors at DAH Theatre Research Centre, Belgrade, Serbia in 2009.
This will be the first time the solo piece is performed in full in Singapore.
